Lead interactive designer for VillainCon: Minion Blast attraction at Universal Studios Japan. Set the vision for gameplay, designed gameplay & scoring systems, prototyped & implemented new features using Unreal Engine 5.
Wrote game design documents, created wireframes for mobile app, iterated on design. I primarily focused on game design, but touched animation, VFX, tech art, and coding to help polish the experience.

Took over interactive design of this attraction a few months before it opened. Made what design changes I could before opening. Led the design team through the final push to open the attraction. Worked closely with IP team from Illumination Entertainment to get the attraction up to their standards in time for the grand opening.
The 39 Steps
Immersive FX, Lead Actor
Stage Show, Anacortes Community Theatre, 2025
Created projection effects for scene where main character Richard Hannay is chased by an airplane. This was achieved by projecting shadow puppets onto portable backdrops, which the live actor playing Hannay interacts with, runs from, and dives to avoid.
The shadow puppets were performed & filmed, digitally composited, and further enhanced by animation and visual FX.
I collaborated closely with the director and a local puppet company to work out the look, feel, and timing of the piece. The puppet company designed and built colorful shadow puppets, which they performed on-camera in a shoot I led. I then composited the footage together, added visual FX such as explosions and muzzle flashes on the plane’s machine guns, and performed color correction. Timing was worked out in collaboration with the director, puppeteer, and sound designer. I further enhanced the audio of the plane’s pilot and gunner to sound like they were being heard over a 1930’s communication radio.
Worked with set design to place the backdrops. Once the first draft of the video elements were ready, I collaborated closely with the lighting designer and tech booth team to get everything looking great, and work out the timing for playing all the elements. I also played Richard Hannay.

Helped design new lands, new interactive experiences, build prototypes using a range of technologies, from VR prototypes of full immersive experiences to small games in Unreal controlled with custom hardware designed and built by the Advanced Technology team, and assisting in narrative design for entire lands being developed. Conducted playtests and adjusted designs based on feedback from users (all age ranges), senior leadership, and working closely with various IP holders.
